As an immigrant and first generation college student, Esperanza understands directly the economic and social struggles that underrepresented communities’ experience in the United States.  Esperanza is extremely motivated to help raise awareness in her immigrant community about human rights and believes that all individuals seeking opportunities for a better future should be able to move with freedom. 

Prior to working at Pangea, Esperanza worked as a bank teller for two years. She previously also worked as an assembly line driver manufacturer and a cashier and barista in the restaurant service industry.  In addition, Esperanza tutored students in ESL (English as a Second Language) after school programs, and volunteered as a Teacher’s Assistant at the Cesar Chavez Elementary School in San Francisco. 

Esperanza joined Pangea in February 2017.  In addition to working full time, she is currently attending Berkeley City College with a focus on biology and an interest in pursuing nursing. 

Esperanza speaks English and Spanish.
