Consultant for South Bay Legal Immigration Services Network (SBLISN)


The South Bay Legal Immigration Services Network (SBLISN) is comprised of nine established Santa Clara County-based immigration legal services organizations.  SBLISN improves access to and quality of immigrant legal services and community education for immigrants and refugees in Santa Clara County (SCC) through service coordination, common capacity building, and project collaboration. Forty percent of Santa Clara County's population is foreign born and an estimated 180,000 remain undocumented.  Serving the community since 2009, SBLISN is poised for growth and expansion. We are seeking a contracted coordinator who is positive, solution-oriented, and can help us in this exciting next stage of our collaborative work.  


SBLISN seeks a part-time coordinator to:

  • Strengthen SBLISN’s external communication and advocacy efforts
  • Enhance our visibility to external audiences through social media and other platforms 
  • Perform funding research, guide, and participate in SBLISN’s fundraising efforts
  • Provide internal coordination, facilitation, and follow-up to advance SBLISN’s collaborative goals as well as enhance and streamline the collaborative’s internal functioning
  • Research best practices developed by similar collaboratives
  • Visit the nine organizations at their offices during the contract period


Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working on immigration issues and/or with immigration legal services organizations
  • Experience facilitating events and coordinating groups 
  • Self-starter and able to initiate and follow through on projects 
  • Communications skills, and desire to lead SBLISN’s social media presence and policy efforts
  • Desire to research funding opportunities, draft applications, and support fundraising efforts
  • Positive attitude and desire to work with a motivated, hard-working collaborative



The contract period is September 1, 2018 - June 30, 2019.  Compensation currently available is up to $30,000.  We anticipate that this position will require at least 15 hrs/week.  We hope for this position to become permanent.
