Orlando is a Managing Director at BlackRock, the top investment management company in the US. He joined Pangea’s board in February 2018.

Orlando’s service with BlackRock dates back to 1992, including his years with Barclays Global Investors (BGI), which merged with BlackRock in 2009.  Through the years Orlando has worked as a senior foreign exchange trader within BGI's trading team in the Global Advanced Active Group.   He was also senior portfolio manager in the Global Market Strategies Group and the Client Solutions Group.

Currently, Orlando and his team are responsible for exchange traded, custom and fund of fund passive currency overlay strategies within BlackRock's ETF & Index Investments Group. Orlando was born and raised in the Mission district of San Francisco and earned a BS degree in Finance from San Francisco State University.

Orlando’s parents immigrated from El Salvador in the early 1960’s with his older three siblings in tow, escaping poverty with dreams of a new life in the United States.  His mother spent any free time she had volunteering for the Red Cross. Orlando has opted to follow in his mother’s philanthropic footsteps and is excited to join the Pangea board in honor of his late mother whose struggles were only matched by her generosity to others.
