Elaine is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and serves as the Director of Investments at the Silicon Valley Community Foundation (SVCF).  She joined Pangea's board in January 2016.

As a senior member of the SVCF investments team, Elaine invests and protects SVCF’s charitable capital of nearly $7B, across numerous portfolios, strategies and investment relationships.  She partners with donors, nonprofits and their investment advisors in framing investment policies and implementing asset allocation to manage risk, return, cost, as well as social impact.

Through the strategic work conducted by SVCF’s Community Impact team in the area of immigration reform and support, Elaine was introduced to Pangea. As an immigrant, Pangea’s mission and the precious concept of unrestricted mobility had personal resonance for  Elaine, who has moved internationally during her career and remains a proud Canadian.

Elaine spent 15 years at BlackRock, also known as Barclays Global Investors, in various portfolio strategy and client relationship roles.  In 2004, Elaine served as a strategic relationship manager with Morgan Stanley Prime Brokerage.  She returned to BGI, joining the iShares product research and development team.  Prior to moving to San Francisco, Elaine was a private banker with HSBC and Citibank in Hong Kong.

Elaine earned a bachelor's degree in commerce and business administration, majoring in finance from the University of British Columbia and the Chartered Financial Analyst designation, and recently held her Series 3, 7, 24 and 63 licenses.
